Iron Knight is a high-performance truck that delivers speed in a big way. For the first time ever, two Swedish titans meet in a head-to-head challenge. A quarter mile drag race and a classic dual around the Mantorp Racing Truck in Sweden.
Volvo trucks recently presented its record-breaking high-performance track the Iron Knight, a holder of two FIA speed records. Its monstrous engine delivers 2,400 hp and 4,425 lb-ft of torque. The combined power of these to Swedish monsters is 2,800 hp. Most of the power comes from the Iron Knight since it’s packing a quad-turbo diesel engine. It’s reaching 0-62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and sprinting to 1,000 kilometers in just 21.29 seconds, which is understandable why it had broken a few speed records.
The Volvo S60 Polestar, on the other hand, makes just 400 hp but it reaches 62 mph in the same time as the Iron Knight. The battles start with a quarter-mile run, where, despite the wet conditions, both Volvos get off to a nice start. However, one racer crosses the finish line with a big lead.
Next up, the battle continues to the Mantorp racetrack, where the truck has the advantage on the straights but has an obvious disadvantage through the turns. Watch the video below to find out which one wins.
