“The Grand Tour” folks managed to put their hands on a Bugatti Chiron. The Bugatti Veyron was the most advanced car ever made but not anymore. Meet the Chiron. It will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the Amazon’s new series with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May.

To transfer the 1, 480-horsepower to the road Bugatti worked with Michelin to develop new tires. Every gram of rubber on the Chiron’s tires must be able to withstand 3800 G. To develop tires at those limits Michelin used jet fighter test rigs.

While The Grand Tour guys have the Chiron, we have a little preview, a video that reveals some interesting tidbits like, for example, the fact the Chiron’s turbochargers push 13.000 gallons of air through the engine …every minute… and would empty the 22-gallon fuel tank in around 9 min.

Like the Veyron before it, the Chiron comes with a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 and AWD system. It’s a limited edition, only 500 will be built, and the price will be approximate $2.6 million. It will reach 0-60 in fewer than 2.5 sec, but it’s limited to 261 mph on the road. The top speed is a secret, for now, so we can only guess. They did give us a hint, though. It’s 28? Mph.

It isn’t clear when the “The Grand Tour” episode will actually be aired, but it will be something awesome.

The Veyron super sport could do 268 mph, the Chiron has been built to go even faster. How faster? No one really knows since its top speed was said to be 28? mph.
