Italdesign Automobili Speciali has unveiled their secret supercar on their website before its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. This new, ultra-limited supercar is named Zerouno and a few of the car’s specs and feats have been unveiled.
Italdesign Automobili Speciali Zerouno is intended for collectors and visionary enthusiasts.
The car combines racing car features and performance alongside type-approval for use on normal roads. It appears that the first point Italdesign wants to make clear about this car is that it will be very limited with only five being built in 2017. This special car boasts a powerful naturally aspirated 5.2 litre V10 engine which enables 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of over 205 mph.
The bodywork is developed around a modular chassis in carbon fibre and aluminium. The car measures 4847 millimetres in length, 1970 millimetres in width and 1204 millimetres in height.
Lightweight was the initial concept that designers at Italdesign applied on the Zerouno project.
The Styling Centre and the Engineering Development Department implemented a work method developed by the company in 1960s and constantly improved it over the years. The method is defined as simultaneous engineering. Engineers and designers work at once to move forward the functional-feasibility checks and designing problems until a perfect compromise is attained that meets design and performance requirements alike.
The five owners of Zerouno will be able to maximize the customization of their cars so that each one will be truly unique. The bodywork will finish with a colour specifically developed for the client. The company has also developed few optional packages involving the exterior and inside the cockpit.
Beauty is the beast
The racing performances with type-approval for driving on normal roads are traits that live together in complete harmony and exemplify the car’s character. Antonio Casu, Chief Technical Officer, said that the development of the Zerouno was based on the know-how achieved in the designing of hundreds of cars in their 49-years history.
To reach the timing target they applied the latest Cax and Simulation Technologies. Since the very beginning with early engineering and production processes, they integrated the styling All this allowed them to produce a state-of-the-art supercar in terms of performance and safety.
