It was dawn when four South Korean players – Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), Hwang In-beom (Tsubena Zvezda), Oh Hyun-gyu, and Yang Hyun-joon (Celtic) – all played in the European Champions League. The joy of seeing all the Korean players play was mixed with the sadness of seeing their teams lose.
Paris Saint-Germain fell to second place in the group with two wins and two losses (six points) after losing 1-2 away to AC Milan in the fourth leg of the 2023-2024 European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League Group F at the San Siro in Milan, Italy, at 5 a.m. on Aug. 8.
Lee Kang-in came on as a substitute for Vitinha in the 15th minute of the second half and played 37 minutes, but was unable to prevent his side from losing.
The visitors took advantage of a set piece early on. In the ninth minute of the first half, Marquinhos dropped a one-bound header to Munjeon on the near side from a corner kick on the right side of the box, and the onrushing Shkreliar headed home to give Paris a 1-0 lead.
AC Milan, who were bottom of the deadly Group F with two draws in their previous three games, fought back immediately as if there was no more to come. In the 12th minute, Olivier Giroud’s left-footed shot from the left side of the Paris penalty box was saved by Paris goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the bouncing ball was headed home by Haphaël Leroy with a right-footed overhead kick to tie the game at 1-1.
AC Milan fought back in the second half. Five minutes into the second half, Theo Hernandez sent in a cross from the left that Giroud headed home with a powerful header to make it 2-1. Paris were unfortunate to see Lee Kang-In hit the post with a left-footed shot in the 44th minute.
AC Milan held on to the lead for the win, leaving a chaotic top four of Dortmund (P7), Paris (P6), AC Milan (P5), and Newcastle (P4).
Meanwhile, Tsrvena Zvezda (Serbia), where Hwang In-Beom started and played the full match in central midfield, lost 1-2 at home to RB Leipzig (Germany) in the fourth leg of their 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League Group G match at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade, Serbia at the same time. After going behind to goals from Xavi Simmons in the eighth minute and Roy Offenda in the 32nd minute, the Red Devils rallied with an own goal from Benjamin Henriks in the 36th minute, but were unable to find an equalizer, leaving them with a 1-1 draw and a spot in the last 16. 무지개토토
Celtic (Scotland), the team of Oh Hyun-kyu and Yang Hyun-joon, went behind to Antoine Griezmann in the first six minutes of their Champions League Group E match against Atletico Madrid (Spain) at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain, at the same time. To add insult to injury, Celtic’s Japanese striker Daizen Maeda was sent off for a direct challenge in the 23rd minute. Further goals from Alvaro Morata in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Griezmann in the 15th minute, Samuel Lino in the 21st minute, Morata in the 31st minute and Saul Niguez in the 39th minute made it 0-6.
Oh Hyun-gyu was substituted at the start of the second half and Yang Hyun-joon in the 16th minute of the second half, but neither managed to register an offensive point.
