The most famous manufacturer of super sports cars Ferrari, launched the 288 GTO in 1984, a car that had the best of Ferrari and a car that started the “hyper” cars era. It was an extremely powerful car at that time with a 2.8-liter V8 turbo engine giving out 400 hp, enough to reach a maximum speed of 188mph.
It was succeeded by probably the most popular of all hypercars Ferrari – F40 with 2.9 liters V8 turbocharged and 480 hp. The car is still a favorite among enthusiasts.
After a while, the F50 was launched, featuring Formula 1 technology and was the first in the series with the atmospheric engine. The F50 reaches 62mph in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 201 mph. The F50 was succeeded by Enzo, a model that sprints 62mph in just 3.2 seconds and achieves a maximum of 220mph.
But, it is the new LaFerrari that is probably the best and first car that Italians made with hybrid drive, which runs up to 166mph for the same time the 288 GTO needs to reach 124mph. Of course, it is clear that LaFerrari will win this drag race, but it is interesting to see how much difference.
