We all know that Cadillac has the old-person car reputation partly because of company’s bad decisions. With the new model, they somehow land in the cool world of urban-chic luxury buyers. The current flagship CT6 will help Cadillac truly change its image.
The base model costs $65,000, which is lot money for such base model. If we take the fact that a fully loaded Volvo S90 costs $65,040, the Cadillac are surely over exaggerating. If you want to enjoy the CT6, just buy the top-of-the-line Platinum AWD model. Anything less just isn’t worth it anyway.
Your first thought when you see this CT6 may be that it is a huge car. It is 204.1 inches long, its lines are clean and will probably age quite well. With the Platinum package, you get a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 capable of producing 400 horsepower, eight-speed automatic gearbox that has a manual setting.
Everything rides on the dreamy Magnetic Ride Control so bumps and potholes are not even noticeable. The MagRide takes care of anybody roll you may encounter. You might have the feeling that you are driving a big boat, but you will its wideness when you are trying to navigate a crowded parking lot.
As we already mentioned, the power comes from a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that produces 412bhp and 409lb ft. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Is it quick, then? Of course! Thee CT6 goes from 0-62mph in 5.7sec.
The car features 4G LTE WiFi, HDMI inputs and two 10-inch screens for the adjustable and massage-enabled backseats. It seems that the best part of the CT6 is the interior. It just feels that its designers spent more time and effort on the interior instead of on the exterior and the engine. So, the sitting in the CT6 with the Platinum package definitely doesn’t feel like driving around in an old person’s Cadillac. The interior design is tasteful and modern for sure.
However, who is actually going to buy this car? The AWD Platinum package costs $87,495, but when you add paint, rims, and spoiler that price goes up to $91,580.
Cadillac has created a car that feels comfortable in its own skin. This is like the company knows exactly what it’s doing.
