If you’re looking for a hardcore Audi-Powered Mini, you could always pick up a John Cooper Works GP. It’s lower and firmer than the regular JCW-tuned Mini, offering you a well on-track experience. Unfortunately, those are difficult to find, and while they’re quick for a Mini, they’re not so quick when compared to, say, this 858 HP custom-built Mini “Quattro”. Lucky you! it’s up for a sale.
$41,000 and you can have the 858-HP Audi-Powered Mini
Few years ago, this project was featured on Speedhunters, had an engine from a 1999 Audi A3 under the hood and made 450 horsepower. Now it’s powered by an Audi-sourced inline-five that makes nearly double the old engine once did.
It’s not a front-wheel drive and instead of using some Mini parts, it uses an Audi all-wheel-drive system. It’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
It weighs next to nothing and it sounds crazy. Where do you want to spend your $41,000?
