A native of the Swansea City youth team, Rodon signed a professional contract with his club in July 2018. Roden, who started to be used as a starting pitcher in 27 league games in the 2018/19 season, also appeared in 21 games in the 2019/20 season. He transferred from Swansea to Tottenham in October 2020 for 12.1 million euros (about 17.5 billion won).
Roden played in 12 matches under Jose Mourinho, but was pushed out of the starting lineup after Mourinho left. Under the leadership of Nuno Santo and Antonio Conte, Rodon was seldom given a chance, behind Christian Romero and Eric Dyer. Rodon only played 24 matches in all competitions at Tottenham over the past two years. Accordingly, he moved on loan to Stade Rennes FC last season. At Rennes, Rodon made 16 appearances in Ligue 1.
Rodon returned to Tottenham, but the situation did not change. As Tottenham recruited a new defender, Mickey van the Venn, the place to stand was further narrowed. According to British Evening Standard Tottenham reporter Dan Kilpatrick, Tottenham even told Rawden to look for another club. Rodon, who was targeted for release, left for Leeds again.
“I’m very excited,” Roden said in an interview with the club. I know the history of Leeds. Leeds is a big club. I want to start early and am excited for the season ahead. When Liz made the offer, it was hard to refuse. I am very excited for the season and success ahead.”
