The managers of the annual International Engine of the Year 2017 contest announced the results of the vote. The jury of 58 journalists from all over the world chose the best engines and put them into 12 categories. Many of them have been given that title even before.
Ferrari’s V8, the F154 3.9 liters was chosen as the International Engine of the Year in the overall ranking.
The 670 hp power unit has been selected as ‘number one’ on the planet for the second consecutive year. This time, the managers decided to grant two more awards – “The Best New Engine of the Year for 2017” and “Best Electric Powertrain for 2017”. It is interesting that there are no diesel engines among the winners. Only the 2.0-liter diesel Mercedes’ OM 654 engine has managed to enter in the “new engines” category.
